POCKET PETS

Small household mammals like rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, guinea pigs and ferrets are often called “pocket pets”. Maintaining your pet’s health regardless of size or species is very important. Routine exams are essential to assess the over health of your pocket pet. Checking the eyes, ears, skin, oral and dental health are incremental in preventing problems before they arise. Interacting with your pet on a daily basis and observing their behavior will let you know how they are feeling.

When your pet begins to show signs of illness it is very important to bring them in as soon as possible. A visit to us is imperative if you notice any of the following:

  • Weight Loss
  • Lethargy
  • Loss of Fur
  • Diarrhea
  • Loss of Appetite
  • Problems Chewing
  • Lesions or Raw Spots
  • Persistent Scratching
  • Nasal or Eye Discharge
